The V40/V41 18mm mini ISO valve line is a smaller version of the popular 26mm V44/V45 series. Similar to its larger siblings, the V40/V41 is available with either a spool & sleeve or thin lip seal spool configuration.Also, the V41 has the optional two 3-way valves in one body, just like the older V45. The modular subbase design, similar to the V44/V45, requires just two fixing screws to attach subbases and end plates to each other.

NEEDLE VALVE vs. FLOW CONTROL VALVE

Needle valves are used to meter the amount of gas or fluid to or from a manifold. They are control devices that meter gas in either direction, and may be equated to a faucet. When used in an air system, the needle valve may be used to fill a specific volume at a controlled rate, or to control the rate of pressure drop from a volume. Needle valves are used quite extensively on the exhaust ports of valves to control the speed of cylinders, or on air motors to control speed.

Flow control valves are similar to needle valves in that they also control the flow of gas or fluid from a device, but in only one direction. Flow control valves are used to control cylinders since they can be mounted directly to the cylinder port. Best control is achieved when the air or fluid is metered OUT of a cylinder.
